Greetings all,
I'm trying to install gsdl-2.38 on Solaris 8. I've gone through the
archive and garnered Solaris hints: GNU binutils (as,ld), gnu m4, gcc
2.95.3....
I run the Install.sh and get hung up here:
.......Checking for sparc-sun-solaris2.8-ranlib... no
checking for ranlib... ranlib
checking how to run the C preprocessor... g++
configure: error: C preprocessor "g++" fails sanity check
make: *** [config.status] Error 1
--> Install.sh: [cd /usr/local/gsdl-2.38-linux/Unix]
ERROR: Compilation failed
Greenstone was not installed
Run the uninstall script (/usr/local/gsdl/Uninstall.sh)
I found the section in configure but don't know what to do with it:
rm -f conftest.err conftest.$ac_ext
if $ac_preproc_ok; then
:
else
{ { echo "$as_me:$LINENO: error: C preprocessor \"$CPP\" fails sanity check"
>&5
echo "$as_me: error: C preprocessor \"$CPP\" fails sanity check" >&2;}
{ (exit 1); exit 1; }; }
fi
Also, I get an automake (gnu) not found although it is installed......
Any suggestions on how to resolve this error? Thanks in advance for
any help....
