I've got similar problem. It seems to me that the cause is that ImagePlug is
not working in the Windosw environment. I don't remember but it's stated
somewhere in Development document or FAQ.

I'm using UnknownPlug for importing those jpg and gif files. This plug-in
can help you to make hyperlink to the files but can not extract any matadata
from the files. Maybe you should add metadata manually. Secondly, you can
not create thumbnails.

I've reported that Unknownplug can recognised and processed just one of my
djvu files. It seems that it's a backward compatibility problem. Means that
Greenstone is designing for early version of Windows - therefore it
recognises well files with less than 8 characters in their name.

I've changed the named of those djvu files and have no problem now.

Hello New Zealand,

I have version 2.52 installed. I've also installed 2.53. And I plan to
install version 3. On on one linux user account. Multiple installations will
confuse gsdlhome. I'm assuming I can just grep the .pm files and find where
it mentions gsdlhome and change them to gsdl253 and gsdl3 and then go from
there. Or is there something else I should consider?

I'm assuming you guys do this same type of thing during development, so I
thought I'd ask.

I'm new to Greenstone and apologize if this has been covered before or
if it's a very silly problem. I looked through the mailing list
archives but didn't find an answer there. I'm trying to build a new
collection (my first) that includes html, doc files, mp3s, and images
(both gif and jpg) using the Librarian Interface. When I try to build
the collection, everything works correctly except for the images where I
get these messages for every image:

The file WVHPAveryPhotographsAvery.gif is being processed by ImagePlug.
The file WVHPAveryPhotographsAvery.gif encountered an error during
The file WVHPAveryPhotographsAvery.gif was recognised but could not
be processed by any plugin.

The file WVHPAveryPhotographsAvery1-a.jpg was recognised but could
not be processed by any plugin.

I got the images from the web and thought that there might be a problem
with the images themselves but I tried adding images that I've created
and got the same error message. Any help would be appreciated.
