Hi Roy,

I'd recommend you try using the "Greenstone Librarian Interface" (GLI) program that comes with Greenstone v2.51. This is a graphical program that makes collection building a little clearer and a little easier. A shortcut to the GLI is added to the Start menu on Windows.

In the first pane, "Gather", you browse through your file system and pick out the files you want in your collection. Then, in the "Enrich" pane you can assign metadata (title, authors etc.) to the files in the collection. The text of the document (and often some metadata) is automatically extracted by Greenstone and you cannot edit this with the GLI. If you want to edit this text then you should modify the original document.

I hope this is enough to get you started.

All the best,

I'm new to Greenstone Digital Library. I've a question: how can I input the document data to a collection? All I found is if we want to import data to a collection. But how do we input the data so that Greenstone can import into the collection?

Thanks and Regards
