Subject [greenstone-users] Importing CDS/ISIS db failure ... arcinfo::save_info couldn't write

and Greetings to all Greenstone user!

I have just installed latest version 2.63 , very nice application ,
great work, and love the new HTML output with css

I have never used the program before, I've read the guides quickly but
luckily looks pretty much clear from interface :-)

First task I have to do is to import an existing cds/isis
bibliographical collecction, 809 records.

From logs file, importing is ok , then I have 809 warnings like:

buildcol.pl> not well-formed (invalid token) at line 31, column 34, byte
1572 at /usr/lib/perl5/XML/Parser.pm line 187
buildcol.pl> WARNING: No plugin could process

and finally an error that prevent the collection preview/creation :

buildcol.pl> *** creating auxiliary files
buildcol.pl> arcinfo::save_info couldn't write
buildcol.pl> Command failed.

Though I can see that in

every record has been correctly recognized and structured in XML ...

Any idea what is causing and how to solve the problem?

(Trying to) running greenstone 2.63 locally on

Linux rubuntu 2.6.10-5-386
perl, v5.8.4
java version "1.4.2_10"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_10-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_10-b03, mixed mode)

Thank you for your help,
