The input document '07-1473-1_-_07-1501_Fenstergitter.html' was
correctly imported for me after I set -input_encoding utf8. I'm
using perl 5.8.7 on ubuntu 5.10, if it makes a difference...

I'm interested in helping you track down what's causing this though,
if you want to take it off-list until we figure it out.
