Subject [greenstone-users] Greenstone as applet on IIS

we are trying to set up Greenstone for the Governance archives at the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji. The installation itself is working fine under IIS on Windows 2000, however we are having trouble getting Greenstone to work as an applet, even after following the instructions closely. The exact error message is:

'An error has occurred on the remote Greenstone server while performing this operation: Server returned HTTP response code: 502 for URL: http://kaka.usp.ac.fj/gsdl/cgi-bin/gliserver.pl '

We were initially getting a 405 error but this went away after changing the Greenstone gliserver URL under preferences in the applet so that it had the .pl extension used on Windows machines. The error is generated both with and without the appropriate proxy information entered.

We are running Java 1.5.0_06 and Greenstone 2.70 on Windows 2000 SP4.

Thanks for any help!
