location for hierarchy file

I want to create a
hierarchy classifier. The command in the configuration file that I am using
is:
classify Hierarchy -hfile subject.txt
-metadata Subject -sort Title
Question: Where do I
put the "subject.txt" file so that the build.pl file can find it? I have tried
several places and haven't succeeded (I get the error "ERROR: Buildcol.pl
failed")
Can you point me in
the right direction?
