I will try to answer some of your questions.

3. Even though I have specified the <metadata name attribute with names
that are different to the Dublin Core, and have included the same metadata
names in the collect.cfg, I still do not get the buttons to appear on the
indexes bar of the collection.

To get the buttons appear on the navigation bar (indexes bar in your word),
first you need to add to the classifier list, which you have done. Second,
you need to use the correct button names. All button images are defined in
a macro file "" . For example, for the Title button,

The two buttons in your cfg file "Categories" and "Function" are not
default Greenstone buttons and are not defined in the file. You can
either create your own images and macros to define the buttons or you can
use other button names instead.

6. How can I specify the size of the collection icon?

You can change the size of the collection icon and the look and size of the
buttons anyway you want. To change the size of the collection icon, first,
you create your collection header image the way you want and note the width
and height of the image. Second, you change the size (height and width) in
the macro file "". Find the macro Greenstone Archives collection in this file
and change the size in the table cell. For example, the default is:

<td rowspan=2 align=left>Greenstone Archives collection</td>

I have changed it to fit with one of our collection icons as the following:

<td width=373 valign=top height=106 align=right border=0>Greenstone Archives collection</td>

I would suggest creating a collection specific macro file to host all the
changes and use c=[collection name] to specify each collection. In this
way, you do not need to change anything in the default macro files and you
will be able to give different collection to different flavors in
collection icon, header icons, buttons, and even link and text colors.

Please take a look at all our collections that have different looks at

Hope this helps.
