Hello Emiliano,

Yes, you can do this, and this is what Greenstone uses to retrieve documents to display.

Using library?a=d&c=<collectionname>&d=HASH... will retrieve a document. If the document doesn't change, the HASH value remains the same between imports, and can therefore be used for bookmarking (for example). If your documents are changing, you might need to look at some of the stable ID techniques that have been discussed recently on the list by Ben Dwyer and Stephen De Gabrielle.

How are you planning to map between folders and document IDs?

Hello again

The last thing. John, thinking about every document has a hash
identifier, I wish to confirm that could call gsdl with all cgi
parameters invoking to this document. I mean to put in the address bar
from the navigator

and the document comes.

I want to use it, doing a "metadata collector" from all the documents
that are inside a particular folder for publishing in an OAI repository,
and giving the posibility to retrieval the entire document, like a very
modest handler isnt'it?

Thanks a lot again
