you can use the url ...library?a=status&p=frameset to see the admin pages of your greenastone installation.
if you click on 'arguments' on the left hand side, you get a list of all the cgi arguments. It tells you the long name of each argument, which is a bit more informative than the short name.

most of a typical url is made up of the e argument, which saves all the previous values of the arguments.

for a query, the typical ones are:

a - action - what type of page (a=q for the query page)
q - the query string
c  - the collection name
h - index name
t - search type - some/all
