Hello Corrado,

To do this you would start by building an AZCompactList on Author:

classify    AZCompactList -metadata Author

This will group documents by the same author together. Then, you can get the formatting you want by playing around with Greenstone's "format statements" (see section 2.3 of the Developer's Guide). These are flexible, but can get complex quickly.

A fairly standard format statement for this would be:

format CL1VList "<td valign=top>[link][icon][/link]</td><td>Title: [Title]<br>Date: [Date]<br></td>"

This provides a link to the document ([link][icon][/link]) on the left, and the title and date on the right (using the Title and Date metadata).

The only complication is that you don't want the Author classifier nodes formatted like this. Therefore, you need to handle them slightly differently, using an If statement:

format CL1VList "<td valign=top>[link][icon][/link]</td><td>{If}{[numleafdocs], [Title], Title: [Title]<br>Date: [Date]<br>}</td>"

The first part of the If statement is the metadata element to test on, then there is an action if true, and an action if false.

Read the section in the manual, have a play with the format statements, and you'll soon get what you're after.

Regards,

Michael
