Subject | [greenstone-users] Subject Browse Help |
I have been playing with
Greenstone for the past week, and I'm having trouble creating a subject browse
for my collection. I have some questions that I hope someone can
answer.
First, I have marked my
html pages with Dublin Core metadata, when I gathered the files to Greenstone, I
selected Dublin Core as the metadata set to use, but Greenstone doesn't seem to
have read this pre-marked data. Is it supposed to? How?
Secondly, I
have "Enriched" a small portion of my collection entering the Dublin Core
information on the Enrich screen of the Librarian Interface. If I did not Enrich
the individual files, I have nothing under the Subject Browse section of the
collection.
Under Browsing Classifiers
I have added: classify Hierarchy -metadata dc.Subject -sort dc.Title.
Under Format Features I
have the following:
format DocumentHeading
"{Or}{[parent(Top):Title],[Title],untitled}<br>"
format DocumentText "<center><table width=537><tr><td>[Text]</td></tr></table></center>" format HList "[link][highlight][ex.Title][/highlight][/link]" format DocumentButtons "Detach|Highlight" format VList "<td valign=top>[weblink][icon][/weblink]</td> <td valign=top>[ex.srclink]{Or}{[ex.thumbicon],[ex.srcicon]}[ex./srclink]</td> <td valign=top>[highlight][weblink] {Or}{[dls.Title],[dc.Title],[ex.Title],Untitled} [/weblink][/highlight]{If}{[ex.Source],<br><i>([ex.Source])</i>}</td>" format DateList "<td>[weblink][icon][/weblink]</td> <td>[weblink][highlight]{Or}{[dls.Title],[dc.Title],[ex.Title],Untitled}[/highlight][/weblink]</td><td>[ex.Date]</td>" When I go to the collection
(http://newbern.cpclib.org/gsdl/cgi-bin/library.exe and
it is the Craven County Digital History Exhibit) the subject headings are there,
but I do not have a link to the documents (individual webpages). The other
selections (Title, Source, Date) all return links to the original html file.
Does anyone know why, or what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for being patient
with me as I learn this software!
Victor
