Greenstone is up and running (mostly) on our Solaris 2.8 webserver.
However, I am having some problems with image display, and using the
ImagePlug & PDFPlug.

The first problem is that images are not displayed. I am getting the "Dummy
text to sidestep display bug" error on the document page. Here is an
example of an archives xml.doc from one of my test runs:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
<!DOCTYPE Archive (View Source for full doctype...)>
- <Archive>
- <Section>
- <Description>
<Metadata name="gsdldoctype">indexed_doc</Metadata>
<Metadata name="Image">paulhed.jpg</Metadata>
<Metadata name="Source">paulhed.jpg</Metadata>
<Metadata name="ImageType">unknown</Metadata>
<Metadata name="ImageWidth">unknown</Metadata>
<Metadata name="ImageHeight">unknown</Metadata>
<Metadata name="ImageSize">unknown</Metadata>
<Metadata name="Identifier">D0</Metadata>
<Metadata name="gsdlassocfile">paulhed.jpg:image/unknown:</Metadata>
<Metadata name="assocfilepath">D0.dir</Metadata>
<Content>Dummy text to sidestep display bug.</Content>

images were created/ available for display.

manipulation properties of some of the underlying software (i.e. gimp, gtk,

Does Xvfb need to be available?

Thank you for your insight!
