Hello all,
I'm having problems installing 2.83 under Linux. I've done 2.81 and
2.82 without issue. Here's what happens:
$ ./Greenstone-2.83-linux
Creating temp directory...
Extracting installer jar...
Preparing Greenstone installer...
/bin/sh: ./jre_bin: not found
Failed to extract the bundled java archive to the temp directory
You need the tar program on your PATH
Exiting
$ echo $PATH
/www/websites/greenstone-2.83/bin/linux/perl/bin:/www/websites/greenstone-2.83/bin/script:/www/websites/greenstone-2.83/bin/linux:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games
$ which tar
/bin/tar
As you can see, tar is indeed in $PATH. When I install perl 5.8 from
tarball on the Greenstone server, I get:
$ perl -S
-bash: /www/websites/greenstone-2.83/bin/linux/perl/bin/perl: No such
file or directory
$ ls -al /www/websites/greenstone-2.83/bin/linux/perl/bin/perl
-rwxr-xr-x 2 yitzchas yitzchas 10617 2009-11-09 00:26
/www/websites/greenstone-2.83/bin/linux/perl/bin/perl
I tried manually moving around unpackaged files that the installer
unpackaged before it exited, but I got all sorts of problems when
running import.pl and buildcol.pl
Any ideas? Thank you!
