Hi Svetlana,

This behaviour is particular to interactions between the Greenstone
local library executable (server.exe) and the Windows OS file locking
system. In theory, before a collection is built, the local library is
asked to close any open files in order to stop this problem occuring. In
theory. Unfortunately it doesn't always work.

The simpliest solution is to move to a web library - where Greenstone
collections are served using a web server like Apache2 - which doesn't
suffer from these file locking problems. Other than that, you can try
manually shutting down the local library before a build then starting
back up afterwards.
