Hi Robert,

Java is complaining that it can't find a certain file, namely C:Documents and SettingsusernameApplication DataGreenstoneGLIcollectalexandearchivesDAlexander McBeth Store Ledger page 10.dirdoc.xml. It might help us to know what does exist in the folder C:Documents and SettingsusernameApplication DataGreenstoneGLIcollectalexandearchives. (I'm not sure if it's supposed to be this way, but everything after archives in the path to the missing file after looks like it has been split up with a '' every eight characters, as if to achieve compatibility with old 8.3 filenames.)

Kind Regards,
Oran Fry.

We have been creating collections in Greenstone 2.72 for a few months now with no problems. Recently one of our employees needed to add data to a collection but when they tried to open it they received an error and the collection was removed from the open collections list. The employee is using the gli client 2.72 on Windows XP. The server running Greenstone 2.72 is a CentOS 4 server. The error that is showing on the Command Prompt for the gli client is:

I've checked to see if the collect.cfg and the build.cfg files are there and they are. They look identical to the files before the incident but I'll attach them anyway just to make sure that there isn't something that I'm missing. Also, these are the entries in the error log in Greenstone:

Warning: couldn't read build.cfg
 file for collection "alexande", gsdlhome="/var/www/html/gsdl"
database open failed on: /var/www/html/gsdl/etc/history.db

The permissions on the attached files are globally readable, root writable with the exception of the history.db which is globally readable and writable. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
