Subject | [greenstone-users] GLI? Web? |
Perhaps this will seem a simplistic question to many on this list, but
I'm unable to enlighten myself by reading documentation found on the web. I'm looking at replacing a DB/TextWorks database with Greenstone, but one of the key requirements is the ability to add/edit information through a web interface. I am running the Greenstone v2.60 Linux binary and from the web pages being fed to Apache it appears that it's only possible to search, not edit information. The "Librarian Interface" page gives instructions on launching the Java GLI app. While reading the documentation I kept seeing reference to an older app called the "Collector" - was that web based? Is there any means of accomplishing what I'm looking for? Is it even possible to edit a Greenstone database "on the fly" while people are searching it, or do you have to "compile" it for use? Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,
