10. OTHER ACTIVITIES PERFORMED

During the period of assignment the consultant performed the following other activities.

i) Established a new limnological laboratory by setting up the equipment so far available in the stores of the Riverine Station along with Dr. M.A. Hossain, Consultant (pen culture).

ii) Provided training to the scientists about handling an proper maintenance of the equipment set up in the laboratory.

iii) Participated as the main speaker in two seminars on fisheries research and development issues held at the Fisheries Research Institute.

iv) Assisted counter-part scientists in developing and preparing questionnaires, in designing and developing sampling programmes, in data processing and analyzing, in preparing annual research plan and report writing and in other research activities as and when required by the scientists.

v) Prepared a project proposal on “Improvement of hilsa (Hilsa ilisha) Fishing Gears and Crafts of the Meghna River”.
