En su informe final, el Grupo Intergubernamental sobre Bosques (IPF), recomienda explícitamente a los países que consideren la integración de criterios e indicadores de ordenación forestal sostenible en sus programas forestales nacionales (PFNs). También se recomienda tener en cuenta los datos recabados de las evaluaciones los recursos forestales, (ERF).
