5. Future studies

We are aware of on-going studies involving DLW measurements in infants and children which involve a total of over 600 subjects. These range from small-scale clinical studies with sample sizes as low as 6, through hypothesis testing studies with samples of 10-60, to field surveys commissioned by government departments with samples of 100 and 200 subjects. They offer the exciting prospect of a wealth of new information which should more than double the existing data-base within the next few years.
