Rationale: Microscopic observation of pollen.
Materials:
flowers (hibiscus, Pervench de Madagascar, orgueil de
Chine)
slide/coverslip
microscope
water
needle
Procedure:
1. Place a drop of water on a slide.
2. Gently touch the point of a needle to the anther to transfer the pollen grains to the drop of water, or the anther can be crushed between the slide and coverslip.
3. Add a coverslip.
4. Pollen grains can be seen with 100x.
