Effects on absences from work

Health-related absences increased with violence at work. As shown in figure 5, 35 per cent of workers exposed to physical violence were absent from work over the last 12 months, as well as 34 per cent of those exposed to bullying and 31 per cent of workers exposed to sexual harassment, compared to an average of 23 per cent among workers in general.
