About the authors

Daryl Ditz is Director of Environmental Management Programs at the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, D.C. At WRI he worked on corporate environmental accounting, new policy frameworks for the electronics industry, sustainability in the U.S. forest sector, and international technology cooperation.

Janet Ranganathan is an Associate in the Program in Technology and the Environment at WRI. Since 1993, she has led work on corporate environmental accounting and the role of emerging monitoring technologies for better management and accountability.
