It was noted that about 80% of the recommendations had been realised. The major achievements were the realisation of the Congress and the steps taken to elevate the UNEVOC Project into a UNESCO International Programme.
Committee Members again stressed the need to improve cooperation with the ILO. Mr Parsuramen explained the steps that had been taken to formulate a common policy framework between UNESCO and the ILO. A UNESCO/ILO joint working group has been established and will be followed by a high-level meeting. It was noted that the 1954 Memorandum of Agreement between UNESCO and ILO was out of date and should be reviewed.
