Improved On-farm Seed Production and Seed Security
In this Programme Element we focus on developing comprehensive strategies to help smallholders and rural communities in marginal and remote areas to improve on-farm seed production and conservation technologies.
We give emphasis to the establishment of networks, particularly in Africa.
| In addition, we help governments to develop national and regional strategies and programmes on seed security to overcome disruptions in agricultural production resulting from recurrent natural and other calamities. |

We promote inter-country cooperative programmes through networks to support seed security, food security and conservation of genetic diversity in farmers' fields. |
