Agricultural World Census Programme

The Programme for the World Census of Agriculture (WCA) is aimed at encouraging countries to carry out an agricultural census during every decade and provides for the basic concepts, definitions and methodological issues.

In this regard, the just issued "Programme for the World Census of Agriculture 2000" covers the censuses to be carried out during the decade 1996-2005.

The publication "Conducting of Agricultural Censuses and Surveys" addresses specifically the HOW censuses should be conducted.

"1990 Results of National Censuses of Agriculture" provides results for the national censuses carried out during the decade 1986-1995. Country files are loaded progressively according to the reports received in FAO from the country. To date information related to around 60 countries is available.
