1.0	Family Structure	What is a family made us of. The role of and functioning the father, the mother and the children in the family. The role of the extended family members. Advantages and disadvantages of nuclear family and those of the extended family. The influences of culture on the structure function of a family.

		The role of the family in promoting the health of its members. The health problems (physical, mental social and spiritual) associated with one parent, and more than two parent families.

		Marriage and culture. The causes and effects of marital disharmony. Extra marital love affairs and the health dangers they pose to the family. The causes and effects of divorce, separation or death of one or both spouses. The importance of communication in the family.
