I need to install Greenstone onto a 2003 Server with IIS6 that already has
websites running on port 80. I installed Greenstone on a Windows 2000
Server (also running multiple websites on various ports - only one
available at the time) as a preliminary test, but am having some issues on
the configuration. The manual is for the setp with PWS and not IIS. There
is no Alias settings anywhere. I installed Greenstone to
f:\apps\greenstone and the majority of the manual refers to "\gsdl".
Should I have installed it to f:\apps\gsdl. I am wondering if I need to
run gsdl as a Virtual Directory underneath the main website (on port 80),
which would result ina URL http://myserver.com/gsdl.
When trying to access http://myserver.com/cgi-bin/library.exe I got a
returned page that said something along the lines of "Oops!. The
gdslsite.cfg file needs to be in the same directory as the library
executable" (sorry I didn't write it down). There is actually 2 x
gdslsite.cfg files, 1 in f:\apps\greenstone and the other in
f:\apps\greenstone\cgi-bin. Both are different files. Is there supposed
to be 2 of these??
If you are able to help in anyway, I would be greatly appreciated. Once I
sort out these issues, I will install it on a 2003 test Server before
placing it on the production Server. Once all up and running, I will
document the procedures for IIS6, and would be happy to email to you to
add to your documentation if you like.
