Hi,

I am playing with the z3950server in GSDL 2.70w. I'm pretty ignorant
about Z39.50 and MARC but it seems to be basically working: I can
open a connection with my YAZ client, specify a collection as the
"base", and find items that are then shown as MARC records.

But the MARC record is pretty sparse...just title (245) and the
original import document name (786). Is there somewhere that I can
map our metadata to MARC fields? Is there a way to get a link to
the item in Greenstone included, in the 856 field perhaps? When a
connection is made to the server, the log spits this out for each
collection:

Unable to find bib1->dublin core mapping for treasure
Looked for:
/usr/local/gsdl/collect/treasure/etc/bib1_to_dces.cfg
/usr/local/gsdl/etc/bib1_to_dces.cfg

Is bib1_to_dces.cfg where I can map metadata to results fields
(seems backwards...I want to map dublin core->usmarc)? Is there
an example bib1_to_dces.cfg file I can examine?

Going the other way...to map query "attributes" to my metadata
...is there a way to do that? Is that what bib1_to_dces.cfg does?
The Z39.50 experts here ask me what attributes Greenstone's
z3950server supports...is that documented somewhere?

Thanks,
