Subject [greenstone-users] Fw: No display of dc.Title data for dc.Titleclassifier for Malyalam
Dear Mr Vladimir and Ms Katherine,

Thank you both for solving my problem and helping me learn a new aspect in greenstone.
In Malayalam, I was using AZList for dc.Tittle and ex.Title earlier and when I used GenericList now for dc.Title, I got the display properly.
My ex.Titles earlier were in English ( Untitled) and I was using AZList for that too. But when I replaced [ex.Title] with [dc.Title] in the format string for ex.Title browsing classifier, I got correct display of dc.Titles , under my ex.Title browsing classifier.

Hope Ms Katherine, would you be able to explain how dc'Title appears properly under ex.Title browsing classifier, when format string is changed from ex.Title to dc.Title.
This is only to learn the intricacies so as to answer others too and not for solving any problem at all.

Regards,
K Rajasekharan

Rajan,
What classifier are you using? If your Malayalam metadata are Unicode encoded then some of the classifiers can't cope with it. That could be the reason why you don't have problems with English metadata. Try using GenericList classifier instead. See "How can I do Unicode collation for my classifier?" at http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/More_about_classifiers
Please let me know if this worked.

Hi Rajan
What classifier are you using? (eg AZList, GenericList etc) Is your
ex.Title all Malayalam characters or does it contain a-z characters?
Try using GenericList if you are not already doing so.
