Subject [greenstone-users] Format statements for different languages
Hello!

I have collection of pictures and every picture is described by
Dublin Core metadata. I would like to display pictures, metadata and
metadata
fields' names too.

My questions are:
1) Is it possible to write format statements to be
able display metadata field's name in different languages?
2) Is there possibility to use 'Translate Text' feature in GLI to write
metadata
field's name translation?

For example, if I display 'title' field, in English I can write in format
string
like this:

<tr>
<td style="vertical-align: top;"><b>Title </b><small
style="color: rgb(51\, 51\, 255);">(dc.Title)</small>:</td>
<td style="vertical-align: top;">[dc.Title]</td>
</tr>

In Latvian I should replace word '<b>Title</b>' with '<b>Nosaukums</b>'

At the moment I have defined macros _mytitle_ {...} and _mytitle [l=lv]
{...}
in extra.dm macro in collection 'macros' directory and use format:

<tr>
<td style="vertical-align: top;"><b>_mytitle_ </b><small
style="color: rgb(51\, 51\, 255);">(dc.Title)</small>:</td>
<td style="vertical-align: top;">[dc.Title]</td>
</tr>

Bets regards,
Raitis
