I've just installed gdsl 2.60 on Windows XP and am now unable to open gli.
It crashes with the message:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
org.greenstone.gatherer.
util.XMLTools.parseXML(Ljava/io/InputStream;)Lorg/w3c/dom/Document;
at org.greenstone.gatherer.util.Utility.parse(Utility.java:985)

at org.greenstone.gatherer.GathererProg.main(GathererProg.java:101)
I have checked for this problem in the message threads and it seems that the
JAVAPATH environment variable and possibly multiple Java versions are
implicated. I have tried removing all but the latest version of Java, and
have tried specifying the path to java.exe explicitly in line 158 of
gli.bat, but I have not gotten anywhere.
java -version gives:
java version "1.5.0_02"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_02-b09)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_02-b09, mixed mode, sharing)
There are two identical java.exe files, one in \windows\system32 and one in
:"c\program files\Java\jre1.5.0_02\bin". I have tried both in the JAVAPATH=
statement.
Any further ideas?
Thanks.
