Hi Katherine,

Thanks for your help as usual.

The database that I am using is "as is". I take it that namespace is ex. or exp.

I am not sure what I am looking for in the archives folder. Are we speaking of the .xml files.

To be honest I am not sure how to proceed. I keep moving around in circles.

In my instance I want to list information by Titles" and by "Author". For my Search Indexes I have chosen ex.18TITLE(Monograph) from the drop down. when I leave it or choose title I get no results. For the Author I have chosen ex.PERSONALAUTHOR(Anal)^all and ex.INSTITAUTHOR(Mon)^all. For Browsing Classifiers I have chosen the appropriate matching fields.

I am assuming that "Format Features' really control what data is displayed. I am not sure what aspect of the "format features" I need to modify. Where it says choose feature do I leave it as browse.

Under the browse the data reads"

<gsf:template match="documentNode">
<td valign="top">
<gsf:link type="document">
<gsf:icon type="document"/>
</gsf:link>
</td>
<td valign="top">
<gsf:metadata name="srclink"/>
<gsf:choose-metadata>
<gsf:metadata name="thumbicon"/>
<gsf:metadata name="srcicon"/>
</gsf:choose-metadata>
<gsf:metadata name="/srclink"/>
</td>
<td valign="top">
<gsf:choose-metadata>
<gsf:metadata name="dc.Title"/>
<gsf:metadata name="exp.Title"/>
<gsf:metadata name="Title"/>
<gsf:default>Untitled
</gsf:default>
</gsf:choose-metadata>
<gsf:switch>
<gsf:metadata name="Source"/>
<gsf:when test="exists">
<br/>
<i>(
<gsf:metadata name="Source"/>)
</i>
</gsf:when>
</gsf:switch>
</td>
</gsf:template>
<gsf:template match="classifierNode">
<td valign="top">
<gsf:link type="classifier">
<gsf:icon type="classifier"/>
</gsf:link>
</td>
<td valign="top">
<gsf:metadata name="srclink"/>
<gsf:choose-metadata>
<gsf:metadata name="thumbicon"/>
<gsf:metadata name="srcicon"/>
</gsf:choose-metadata>
<gsf:metadata name="/srclink"/>
</td>
<td valign="top">
<gsf:choose-metadata>
<gsf:metadata name="dc.Title"/>
<gsf:metadata name="exp.Title"/>
<gsf:metadata name="Title"/>
<gsf:default>Untitled
</gsf:default>
</gsf:choose-metadata>
<gsf:switch>
<gsf:metadata name="Source"/>
<gsf:when test="exists">
<br/>
<i>(
<gsf:metadata name="Source"/>)
</i>
</gsf:when>
</gsf:switch>
</td>
</gsf:template>
<gsf:template match="classifierNode" mode="horizontal">
<gsf:link type="horizontal">
<gsf:metadata name="Title"/>
</gsf:link>
</gsf:template>

I guess that on browsing it list information in the manner specifiedand the default is "Untitled" which is what I am getting.

What I did was to change where it says <gsf:metadata name="dc.Title"/> I changed it to <gsf:metadata name="ex.PERSONALAUTHOR(Anal)^all"/> and the name meta data name I change it to "List by Author."

Am I totally off here...

To be honest this is driving me up the wall...I cant seem to make heads or tales of what should be done.

I have attached a document to see what other options occur under browse.

Please help....

PS. please feel free to speak in dummy language...I am truly clueless!!!

Thanks & much appreciated.

Hi Carla

You will need to modify your search format statement. Have you exploded
the database? Then you can look in GLI in the Enrich panel to see what
metadata your records have - in particular, what namespace the Title
has. If you have not exploded, then the metadata won't show in GLI, and
you will need to look in the archive files in the collection.
Check whether its dc.Title, ex.Title etc. Then make sure that the format
statement uses the same namespace.
One exception, I don't think gs3 runtime likes having ex.Title in the
config file - use Title instead.

Regards,
Katherine
