Hi Michael,

Your problem reminds me of another from about a month or so ago.

The student had written:
"and got this message:
Warning! You will not be able to view your new collections within the
Librarian Interface unless you specify the path to the Greenstone
Library Webserver. You can enter this now in the text field below, or
later by going to Preferences and choosing the Connection tab. Remember
that a valid url must start with the protocol "http://", and will
probably end with the executable name ("gsdl" for Greenstone local
library server, "library" for other web servers)"

And this is the solution she found worked for her:
"this is what i did for your future refrence: i changed the settings in
the file menu in the greenstone digital library window to using internet
explorer as my browser and always use 127.0.0.1 and that combination
seems to work for some reason!
i think maybe its because i had firefox as my browser? anyway its
working so everything should be fine now hopefully"

Therefore, since there is some urgency to your situation, you may wish
to try the above. There's a little white window that appears briefly and
generally minimises itself prior to the GLI application launching. Your
PDF includes a screenshot of that little white window. This is the local
library server window. It contains a single menu.

1. Will you go to its File menu
2. Set it to use Internet Explorer as you browser
3. Set it to always use 127.0.0.1
4. Click OK.

If that doesn't work, maybe a restart of the application is necessary.

And if that doesn't work either, can you send me an email with the
contents of the file "glisite.cfg" located in the top level of your
greenstone 2 installation?

Regards,
Anupama
