Hi,

Greenstone has it's own built in web interface capable of generating
web pages for display on a PDA. I suggest that if you want to create
web pages for PDA's then using a translation layer built using
ASP.net is probably making the job much harder for yourself unless it
is a part of the requirements of the assignment. I suggest that you
skip using the ASP layer all together and use Greenstone to create
the web page.
If you *must* make Greenstone be the data store only then the
easiest way of making Greenstone generate XML would be to change the
macros in gsdl/macros/ and change them from creating HTML to creating
XML. To do this you may need to edit the code within the receptionist
that puts the macros together.

Cheers,
John Rowe
