Thanks very much for replying Julian! Should this solution work for a local filesystem based collection like mine?

Unfortunately, I can?t get it to work: the player doesn?t even display on the page (although it is there in page source).

FYI: to check it wasn?t a problem with the audioUrl file path specification, I also created a simple test html page (using the <object> code suggested) within the same folder as the mp3 I am trying to play, and set audioUrl=filename.mp3. When I opened this in Firefox, it still had the same problem.

Can anyone explain where I am going wrong or perhaps suggest another workaround?

Thanks again

Sharyn

Hi all

Reposting, as I still haven't found a resolution to this problem nor
received any response as yet.

I've ingested some MP3s (using MP3Plugin) into my collection but when I
'view' them in Greenstone 2.82, I get only 1-2 seconds of playback rather
than the full duration. They DO play to the full duration if opened directly
in the same web browser.

I also tested this using the Greenstone tutorial on MP3s (ie, the Beatles
collection) and the same thing happens. They've also been tested using the
UnknownPlugin to process both MP3 and MIDI files - the midi files are fine,
but the MP3 file playback is again truncated.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance,

Sharyn

Hi Sharyn

We'll have a look at it here next week. What operating system and
browser are you using? If using windows, are you using local library or
apache or IIS?

Regards,
Katherine

Hi Katherine

Thanks for your response.

I'm using Windows Vista, Firefox 3 and local library.

Cheers

OpenOffice document

Hello,

I run Greenstone V2.82 on Windows XP with the sample library and manually added OpenDocumentPlugin. However, processing my sample OpenOffice-Writer document (odt document generated by OOo2 and OOo3) with the OpenDocumentPlugin fails with the following error message:

import.pl> DirectoryPlugin: preparing metadata for test_20091010.odt
import.pl> File "test_20091010.odt" matches filespec ".*"
import.pl> DirectoryPlugin recurring: test_20091010.odt
import.pl> WARNING: No plugin could recognise wb34te\test_20091010.odt

The process_exp looks ok to me and I even tried to put in the whole file name of the document I want to process. Still, it seems as if the document is not recognized by the plugin but I cannot explain why this is happening. Is there another filter/condition which prevents the file from being recognized/processed? Has anyone a working sample for processing an OpenOffice document or perhaps can give me hints as to what went wrong?

Thank you,

Wolfram
