When you say rename, do you mean the displayed collection name, eg the
collectionmeta collectionname bit?

You need to rebuild for collectionmeta changes to take affect. You can
take a shortcut though - only the gdbm database needs to be rebuilt, not
the indexes.

You can run
perl -S buildcol.pl -mode infodb <collname>
This will generate the database in
gsdl/collect/<collname>/building/text/<collname>.ldb
copy this file into
gsdl/collect/<collname>/index/text/<collname>.ldb

and you should be able to see your changes.
