Dear Ted Maust,

Digital Library Network South Asia, has developed embeded video program to
be used with GSDL, which works both for Windows and Linux Operating
System.
This program can be used for server as well as client side. There is no
need to use unreal as given in the wiki page of Greenstone.

This program does not need to create HTML page for each video and just
use the document page that Greenstone generates for files. The program
works with any free format such as MPEG4, FLV. The program files along
with the instructions in its use can be downloaded from the url:

This programme works best with Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

With regards,

Sincerely yours,

Hello again,

I must apologize for the redundancy of my last email. Immediately after
sending it, I found the cache of valuable predecessors' questions about the
same issue in the mailing list archive. Sorry for that.

Reading over some of those questions and responses raised some more
questions for me however:

-Which video formats and streaming programs have been found most useful? (I
know the wiki recommends Unreal, but that might not be everyone's
preference)
-Is there any way to avoid creating an HTML page for each video and just
using the document page that Greenstone generates for files?
-What sort of filesize works best? (I would give specs about my server
hosting capacity, except that I don't have hosting figured out yet)

Thanks for your patience,

Ted Maust
