I inherited a Windows XP and Ubuntu linux Greenstone collection and am new at this. The Windows GLI is release 2.72. The Greenstone version on linux was installed about the same time, so I'm guessing that is 2.72? The person who created this digital library used to create files on the Windows machine then upload collection files to the linux server via tools such as ssh.

My question is: I'm switching to another PC (Windows 7). If I downloaded Greenstone 2.83 for Windows 7 will I still be able to add to and update the content on the original linux version?

I plan to update the linux version eventually but may not have time to do it right now.
