in gsdl/macros/, _phindapplet_ defines the applet tag for the
html page. You can change the width/height here:

<APPLET CODEBASE="/gsdl/bin/java"
CODE="org.nzdl.gsdl.Phind.Phind.class" ARCHIVE="Phind.jar" WIDTH=500

I'm not sure how to change the justification. The source code for the
applet is in gsdl/src/java/org/nzdl/gsdl/Phind/*.java if you want to
have a look.

In gsdl/etc/main.cfg, add the line
cgiarg shortname=t argdefault=0

The t argument controls the some/all box.

I don't think Greenstone specifies the font - it just uses whatever
default font is set in the browser.
You could try adding
style="font-family: arial;" to the body tag: this is defined in
gsdl/macros/, defined in GSDL Error macro.
