Hi,
you don't need to touch Greenstone's source code. You can change the
appearance by editing the macro files. You can control which macro
files are loaded from the gsdl/etc/main.cfg config file.

We are not sure why this sometimes happens. We use the third-party
pdftohtml converter (from http://pdftohtml.sourceforge.net/ )
and it seems to depend on how the pdf file was created, and what
program generated it.
