Subject [greenstone-users] Greenstone as a Folio Views replacement

Yesterday I 'discovered' Greenstone, downloaded docs + package, did some
'googling' on the mailing listis' archives, browsed through some of the
Greenstone collections (there is even one in Croatian language :-) found out
about Greenstone3...

Before diving into all the docs (workshops material), I'd like to get answer(s)
on a few questions, but I will fire one at a time :-)

I have one infobase published with Folio Views and this it the only thing
which keeps me bound on win32 platform (since I'm on Gentoo amd64, I have to
keep dual-boot setup :-(

Discovery of Greenstone means that I could use it for one of the future
projects, but it could (maybe) solve the Folio Views issue too.

So, my question is whether Greenstone is capable to serve as a replacement for
Folio Views (my present infobase is around several hundreds MBs - compressed),
i.e. to be used for preparing an 'Infobase' (aka collection) of utf-8 encoded
Unicode documents which can be published on CD/DVD and isntalled for standalone
offline-use -- browsing & searching?

Sincerely, Gour
