Dear Binu,

When Greenstone builds colleciton out of the
source files that you give, it creates many archives, metadata as
well as indexes in addition to the original/source files which also
get imported into the 'collectcollection
nameimport' folder. Naturally, these will result in total
size increase. You can save a bit by moving the source files
outside the Greenstone folder if you so desire. Please keep in mind,
if you want to modify this collection afterwards, you will need
to restore these files in the same place before you do so.

It's also a better idea to keep the multimedia files outside
the Greenstone server by building bibliography collections and giving
references to the original ones in a different server.

Hope this helps.
