Robert,
are you running GS on Windows or Linux?. It seems that your problem is a
security issue. Can you check that /greenstone/etc folder has write
permissions?. If you are on Linux you can try this:
chmod -R a+rw /greenstone/etc
The Windows equivalent is to right-mouse click on the folder, select
properties, select security and give Read and Write permissions to the
"Everyone" user.
