If I recall, you were working with version Greenstone 2.81. You will
need to first make sure that the Desktop has it installed as well.

Next, on your laptop, go your Greenstone2 installation directory. Then
go into its "collect" directory and copy all the collection folders you
want. Perhaps you would wish to copy these collection folders onto a
flash drive, since they can be somewhat large in size.

Take these collections over to your Desktop machine and go to the
Greenstone2 installation directory on here now. Once again, open up its
"collect" folder, and now transfer all the copied collection directions
into it.

You may need to restart the GS2 server on your desktop machine to view
the additional collections.

People working on the Desktop machine should now be able to launch GLI
(the Greenstone Librarian Interface application) and add new documents
into the collections you had transferred, add more metadata, create new
collections, and the like.
