Hi Jasmine

The search pages are defined by the macros/query.dm macro file.
You can edit these to change the search form.

oops

The requested page could not be found. Please use your browsers 'back' button or the above home button to return to the Greenstone Digital Library. gives the page content,

_queryform_
and later
_selectqueryform_{_fieldqueryform_}
_selectqueryform2_{_fieldqueryform_}

changes the query form depending on type of collection (ct=0 for mg,
ct=1 for mgpp) and search type (qt=1 field search, qt=0 plain search
unless qto=2)

_queryform_ and _fieldqueryform_ define the search forms (plain and fielded)

If you know HTML and have a basic understanding of the macro language
you can change the entire search form by changing the relevant macros.

fold and stem are casefolding and stemming. If you don't want these, or
the query box, then you probably want to remove the option to change to
advanced mode from the preferences page. The preferences page is defined
by pref.dm macro file.

The best way to change something is to look at the page source in the
browser, work out the name of the option you want to change, then look
for that in the macro file and change it there.

I'm not sure what your question is regarding search history.

Macro files can be a bit tricky to work with, you often need to look
through several macros, which call other macros etc before finding the
one you need. But have a play with it and hopefully you can produce the
search page that you want.

Regards,
Katherine
