Hi

If you have installed a binary version of greenstone, then you don't
need to run makegli.sh. Just run gli.sh to start the Librarian
Interface, which allows you to build collections.

There is a lot of information about collection building on our wiki, in
particular the tutorial exercises at
http://greenstone.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Tutorial_exercises

If you do want to recompile the librarian Interface, then you will need
to install a development version of Java (SDK) not the runtime version
(JRE). It doesn't matter where Java is installed as long as your PATH
and JAVA_HOME variables are set correctly.

Regards,
Katherine
