Subject [greenstone-users] Collation sequence...
Dear List,

Simple question...

How does Greenstone select the collation sequence to be used?

...which has a more complex corollary...

We have some texts in Pushto, this is based on the Persian (Farsi - Dari) character set, but it has some additional characters. The result is that these additional characters are not sorted properly in the browser classifications when I create the A-Z horizontal list. Is there any way that I can adjust the collation sequence that Greenstone uses.

...and probably has a very sad ending...

As far as I am aware there is no official Pushto collation sequence on either Linux or Windows, I know of a project that was started to achieve this but I don't think it was completed. If the collation sequence must be part of the OS (as I believe it should be) then I can direct this question to another group. (in the meantime I'll have some ammo to deflect the ire of some people who object to the current collation results.)

Many thanks for your time.

Graeme.
