Hi Melissa
Collections are not transferable between the two types of Macs without a
small modification.
Does it seem to work ok apart from being unable to view the demo collection?
Try rebuilding the demo collection on the powerpc mac - does it work now?
The collection database file is not transferable between the two.
When you need to transfer a collection, you'll need to do the following
(replace collname with the collection name)
On original machine:
once the collection has been built, go to the
gsdl/collect/collname/index/text directory.
run db2txt collname.bdb > database.txt
Copy the collection to the other machine.
in the same index/text directory on the new machine, run
txt2db collname.bdb < database.txt
Then the collection should work.
I hope this helps,
Regards,
Katherine
