Dear John,

Acrobat Reader does have a "Whole words only" search option that match
whatever search terms as a whole word. But to my knowledge, currently it
doesn't support setting this parameter on opening a PDF file from URL.

As for the punctuation, you can try to add some javascript to do the
proper encoding. Here is what I did.

I changed the source link in the search result list to this,

<a href=\"#\"
onClick=\"javascript:safe_link('/gsdl/collect/gsarch/index/assoc/[archivedir]/[Source]',
'Sergey Yevtushenko')\">{Or}{[ex.thumbicon],[ex.srcicon]}</a>

then added the following javascript in the macro in
extra.dm. The script also gets rid of the quotes.

function safe_link(baseurl, argq) {
var safeq = argq.replace(/"/g,"");
safeq = encodeURI(safeq);
var safeurl = baseurl+"#search=&quot;"+safeq+"&quot;";
window.location = safeurl;
}

Regards
Anna
